Apple Picking Dress

How fun is this?! Much more fun then just posting on my Flickr Page! First up a new dress!

This is my first go at the Apple Picking Dress and I have to say its a new fav. It came together very nicely!I used an Ikat quilting cotton from Joann for the bodice and tie, and grey sweatshirt fleece for the fun double layer skirt, and I found the cutest grey buttons to match.

While I normally go with a size 3t in Oliver + S patterns, I went with a 4t this time and I’m so glad I did. Ava’s getting taller by the minute!

Thankfully, I didn’t run into any problems while sewing up this beauty. I highly recommend!

  1. How lovely to see you writing a blog. I love the things you make your daughter and so on-trend!

And that watercolor effect on the last photo is beautiful.

  2. I too was very happy to see that little link under your Flickr picture. Congratulaions on the new blog.
I’m very tempted to copy your knit skirt parts for this dress. tell me did you hem the knit as per the pattern?

    1. Thank you! You should definitely do it, I actually used a sweatshirt fleece so it really doesn’t have much stretch at all! I left the edges raw and they did very well even after washing.

  3. This may seem very premature at your first post, but I nominated your blog for a Liebster award. You should see that as flattering as I expect I’ll really enjoy this blog and wanted to share it with others. But it does have a chain mail side to it, should you choose to accept it. (I say no obligation, you can just take the compliment if you like!)
My nomination blog post is here: http://bartacksandsingletrack.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/ive-been-very-busy-sewing-cutting-more.html
