Floral Everyday Skirt

I’m a little late posting this, but this was my Easter outfit. I’ve been contemplating whether or not to try the Everyday Skirt pattern for a while. I think I was just a little scared to sew for myself. But after making this shirt for myself, I felt pretty confident in at least giving it a try. By the way I’m so flattered and excited that my metro tee got featured on two major blogs, thanks Rae, Kristin and Liesl!!

I used a fun abstract-ish floral linen look fabric from Joann. It was really awesome to sew with and has a nice little weight and drape to it. According to my measurements I fell under the size xs. I didn’t make any major modifications, but I took quite a bit off the bottom for the hem.

The pattern was a dream to sew, seriously if you’ve been on the fence about sewing for yourself I highly recommend this pattern…you will love!

Metro Tee

I made something for myself for the first time…ever!

I used the newly released Metro T-shirt pattern by Liesl and Co. According to my measurements, I fell under the size small category. It was very simple to sew and fits really well. I decided to shorten it to a crop top length and I love it! I used a mystery knit that I got from a warehouse fabric store, it reminded me of a Mara Hoffman print and I loved the geometric pattern it had on it. The color scheme is amazing too. I think this shirt’s given me the confidence to try sewing for myself again, it was pretty thrilling. And by the way, Ava was my photog. for the pictures, not bad for a 4 year old! 😉
